John's Story

January 2011 I am still in Germany and I have an open-ended contract and had my work permit extended three more years. Taylor is on his way to study at the European Business School in Oester-Winkel, near Wiesbaden, for a semester of study... yea right.... Adam is at U of L and is in the middle of his 2nd year. Both are doing good and do not seem to have been too adversely affected having me as a father.. :-)).. Tie marches on.... way too fast!! 2009 Things change. My guys are doing good. Taylor is 19 1/2, attending the Univ of Louisville (GO CARDS!), working at Costco, and playing around investing in the stock market. I told him to do well because he will have to take care of me in my old age... has anyone noticed that seems to be getting closer and closer.... nah it's probably just me. Did I mention that he has hair half way down his back. I'm jealous. Adam is about to turn 18 and is a Senior at Eastern HS in Louisvile. He will alsobe going to U of L. He and a couple buddies are trying to put a band together. He plays drums, is learning the guitar, and also wants to learn to play the piano/keyboard. He works at a pond store to make a few bucks to pay for insurance and gas for the car I gave him. He was sporting a bright red Mohawk. He si more conservative now, it isn't red anymore and he can style it to look "normal" until he decides to spike it up. I think they both learned that it is necessary to go to college and I have to thank some of work experiences and bosses for that.... Well nothing to exciting with me I moved back to Harrisburg at the end of 2005. I worked for Phoenix Conta...Expand for more
ct, a German industrial connection and automation company. I like it so much..... no I didn't buy the company, but I did ask the Germans if I could work at the HQ in Blomberg, Germany and they said sure why not. So, I started a two-year (open-ended) contract in January. I wish I paid more attention in German class.... Oh and by the way, we were not taught German... we were taught Southern (Munich) German which I keep being told isn't German at all, but considered Northern Italian. Apparently, they are very different than the rest of the Germans. Partiers...sound like my kindafolks. It has been great and I think that I might stay awhile. BTW, if anyone is interested I set up a FaceBook account and started a couple photo albums of my experiences here. Besides that, same old same old.... 2005 Life My boys are my biggest accomplishment by far. The boys are now young men - DAMN!!!! Taylor (is 16 and driving - everyone off the roads) and Adam is 14 and almost my size. Taylor is into music, he plays the guitar and likes ACDC. Adam is going to play football for the first time as a freshman at Manual High School in Louisville, KY. They both show a few of my tendencies and for those of you who still remember me, that is a very scary thing. They both are great kids, despite their father's influence.... As far as myself, I acquired some additional education. I completed a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from PSU-Harrisburg and an MBA from the University of Louisville. I have been thinking there might be more...... never say never. That probably shocks the heck out of some of you.
