John's Story
Well now, it has been a long time hasn't it. Yes, I am still alive! I have been living in Argentina for the last 10 years at the foot of the Andes Mountains in a town called Mendoza (malbec wine country :-). I own a small business (airecuyo dot com) and I work on my philosophical theories of quantum mechanics in my spare time. On December 24, 2004, I almost died when I slammed my motorcycle into an old pickup truck. But today, after seven operations and three years of difficult recuperation, I am almost as good as new again and I recently got back to dirt bike riding! I also love mountainbike riding! I still play the guitar when I have spare time, and am still fascinated with Jimi Hendrix. My YouTube name is "Shiny Raygun".
I think of Oregon often. Part of my soul has never left the backroads of Manzanita, the awesome cliffs at Short Sands beach, hitchhiking from Mohler to Tillamook and up to Seaside ...Expand for more
and back to Jack Grimes farm in the rain, just in time to milk the cows at 3:00 in the morning, and hopping the freight trains to Portland and back just for fun. After I left Oregon, I went on to a thousand different adventures. I even took time out every now and then to gather up several degrees from various universities. I have degrees in electrical engineering technology, ba philosphy major and political science (magna cum laude), even a doctorate in law from Arizona State University. Lots of studying just to discover that I already knew everything I needed to know back when I sat on the cliffs in Oregon and looked out across the ocean those many years ago. I always dream to come back to the area someday, maybe write a book about the meaning of the universe! Cheers to all my old friends and enemies who shared time with me in my unforgettable teenage experiences! I hope you are all doing well!
Love, John
