John's Story
My wife and I have moved back to the old place on Green Briar Rd, on the little pond, where I lived from 7th through 12th grades. My folks built the house in '64 when we first moved out to Bloomington from south Minneapolis. But a couple of years ago it became apparent that they couldn't manage the place any longer so we offered to buy the place from them so that they could get out of there. e to say it's working out great. We've done a few things to make the house more ours, to fit our lifestyle a bit better, to be able to make use of the small kids' bedrooms for what we needed, to make what was a small dining area/family room into one large dining room, and a few other things -- but it's still the great house that my parents designed and built -- and that's just fine. There's even two of the original neigbors still around and that's kinda neat too. It's great to be back in Bloomington and now I've got a lot of catching up to do.
