John's Story
Where to start? Graduated Pennsbury HS 1978. Of course. I was played or should I say hardly played for the Falcons my junior and senior year. I dated Lisa Reday (a junior) most of the time and Sandy Stocovaz,
discreetly for quite a while. Hung around with most the jocks, some were real a-holes. John Sandy was my best friend and Donna Dillman (a junior) she was a sweetheart.
After H.S. I worked for about a year and a half, then went to Bucks County Community for a semester...that sucked.
Since I felt I was going nowhere, I joined the Air Force.(time of my life) Great people, smart people. It totally changed my attitude about the military.
I was stationed at Travis AFB, CA as a jet-engine mechanic where I worked in the TF-39 and TF-33 jet engines for the C-5 Galaxy and the C-141 Starlifters.
Here we tested the engines before they were put on the aircraft. If anything went wrong on an engine, it would be here. I actually received and achievement medal once when a engine nearly blew up when running at 100%. Of course, I was running the controls and he who is running the controls is in charge.
To this day, I have quite a few friends who were in the Air Force that I still stay in contact with and see on a regular basis...Sad...more than ...Expand for more
in high school.
After the Air Force and actually while I was still in, I worked down in Oakland, CA at Trans-America Airlines with a lot of great civilians and people from the test cell. But in 1984, I decided to move back to Yardley, PA.
With a whole new look on life, I went back to Bucks County CC for a year and a semester and a 4.0, I Transferred to East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, where in 2 years I graduated Gamma Beta Phi.
With a BSBA in Marketing & Business.
Man that was fun...Great time and good people here as well. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a nerd, I just took school serious, but on the weekends, I was a party animal...especially all those trips to Myrtle Beach...lol
After graduation, I moved to Atlanta, GA to find a job. In the mean time, it was just partying, golfing and interviewing for 3 months. I stayed with one of my buddies from the Air Force, Doug Wilson.
After the 3 months I was offered a job as a manufacturers sales rep. for Buckeye International. The only catch was I had to live in Raleigh NC., so I decided to move there...
(I'll write more later, I thought this would just take a few minutes and it's Gorgeous outside today, here in Rock Thrill (Hill), SC. Until then Take Care and Have a Great Week.
