John's Story

"You may leave school but it never leaves you." -XTC Although there are many wonderful memories, high school had its awkward moments: everyone was growing and maturing at different rates, and I seemed to be at the back of that line. ing it to the thirtieth this summer. College was one of the best experiences of my life. I majored in Literature, with minor studies in Drama and German, and spent the winter semester interims in New York, getting invaluable exposure to the arts and culture of that city. After graduation, I got what I thought was a job, but what in actuality turned out to be a career. I'm now president of the graphic arts company, Coleridge Design, where I began as a typesetter twenty-three years ago. Having a steady job all that time has enabled me to engage in several side pursuits: acting, writing, traveling, music, and for the last eleven years, a bartending gig a couple of nights a week. As I tell my friends, it seems like all I do is enjoy life and have a good time; I keep thinking there must be something more!
