Johnny's Story

UPdate: The Mrs. (Dawn Clifford)and I just finished a 10 Series reality program American Weed" Thanks to those that checked in. Hate getting old on 60" HD TV dang. Life I started with Television Production at the forming Channel 6 Ventura County Public Television. 1974. Coming from a family of Camera Shooters ( Uncle "Turtle Bob" Rea, John Ford's # 2 camera man who shot the movie "The man who shot Liberty Valance, "starring John Wayne. Bob died from Malaria while shooting the Burma Trail about 1/4 of the crew was lost from filming in the Jungles for realism that Ford was achieve with on site filming. He brought back the our Turtle but he couldn't survive the disease. Next spot was Sports Photojournalism/ Photography and Yearbook in High School. I competed in: Wrestling: Varsity 3 years, All-Channel League Honors 2 years, Selected Alternate to Japan, Europe Travel Team. Baseball: All-Star, Basketball: All-City Men's League Champs, Coors Light City Tourney Champs Softball: Calif. State ranked. Tourney M.V.P Then the ultimate thrill sport, Motocross. As a Professional with State and Regional Amateur and Professional Championships. Sports, pretty much, drove my interests in life and Photography, it was my existence. It's always been fuel to my soul. I have performed as a Regional Reporter/Special Assignment with Cycle News 15 years and thank them for the experience, payments and the pride one receives . Cycle News is the premier "On time Motorcycle Reporting" in the World and has set a tone for the best professional reporting skills possible in this Industry. I had the pleasure of performing MX America Staff Photojournalist from '02-03 earning E-Zine and Print Published Covers and featured stories. Earlier I had served as the Colorado Cycle Scene MX Editor for 3 years covering every form of Motorcycle racing within 5 States. On a National Motocross assignment in MillviIle, MN. I took on Sturgis Rally in 1997 on the way back home and fell for Glamour/Motorcycle Photography while meeting Mike Leitcher of (In the Wind, Easy Rider) and Victoria Silverstadt/Ziering ( Playmate of the Year) , Arlen Ness and all of wonderful Sturgis People and Bikes. Since 1997 I have opened up my photography to all styles of photography assignments and work. I had the pleasure of covering the Warp Tour for 2 years for RacerXill Magazine with a Published E-Zine story that made Band Photography a blast. Been either on Stage or in the Pit for: Blink 182, Lit, Alice Cooper, Ice Tea , Black Eyed Peas, Emmien, Papa Roach, Green Day, Long Beach Dub, Bad Co. ZZ Top, Firehouse, SteppenWolf, Cheap Trick, 38 Special .Great White and Birthday Party with Branscomb Richmond every year at Sturgis. I have really enjoyed the interaction of Glamour Photography and trying to capture nature's beauty in the results. Since 2002 I have created a small Studio (Studio 5, Ft. Collins ) for Modeling Sessions. I also enjoy the timeless craft of Figure Art /Figure Studies/ Black and White. always rewarding. I aspire to travel to the World's most beautiful destinations to capture the splendor of life, nature and models there in. Some of my favorites have been Mono Lake, Mammoth Mountain, White Sands, Estes Park, South Padre Island, The Redwoods, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Crater Lake, Garden of the Gods. Photography and life in America is wonderful. I can't believe that recently my work has been excepted at Online galleries with the like of Helmut Newton, Roger Mapplethorpe and M.P Hunt. I would like to give a special thanks to Joe Farace (Shutterbug Magazine) who has taught me so much and all of his technical advice and personal tutoring. Thanks to Dave Hall at Glamour Models for his Website /Message boards and his Model/Photographer Events I save the biggest thanks of all to Dawn of the Rockies. For all of her inspiration to keep me shooting and interested in the craft of Photography beyond Sports Photo/Journalism. Her Modeling and unique visions that have transformed into a love for Photographic I mages. Since Dawn and I had the pleasure of being featured on the "Jenny Jones Show" Crazy.Dawn did 2 Jay Leno Tonight Show cameo 1 w/ Pee Wee Herman and 1 w/ Mo Rocco I also got a small part in a Rock Video called "Road to Sturgis" The Band Swarte John Clifford De Jae Forte' Images School We had the best Wreslting team in 1976. League Champs and State Winners(10th overall). It was amazing.We won ever tourney that year.Jim Armstrong and I(20-6,2nd league,1st and (2)3rd Tourneys, Japanese Alt. All Channel League)were the only juniors who lettered.Long live "Juniors two". Hello to all my Wrestler specially Matmaids and Cheerleaders.Think the out of control high jinx of Senior Week takes the cake.Carte Blanche rule of the school. Hanging our Senior Hit list from the Gym. Water balloning, T.P.Houses,capturing wrestlers in their house with parental knowledge (Pete Malie, Robert Thompson,Lester My.) We swim naked at night in the Buena Pool (Smithson, Beggs, Myers, Nelson and yours truly). Driving Jake Nelson's Car MG) on the football field and thru the Buena Ventura Mall. Surfing the Point,Oil Piers,Overhead,Rincon with Jim Armstrong,Vince McMahon,Steve Cumberledge,Howard and Jackie Smithson. Friday night dances at the K.C. Hall.. Let' face it we lived in the best of times. No One can match our (Ventura) Cruising Main and heading for the South Jetty. People came from all over So. California to attend. Think of the bonfires, the music and the cops didn't show up for a year.God Bless Jim Sands. Hope your o.k.
