Johnnye Webster's Story
Johnnye Webster Harper.
I graduated from Jackson State College now Jackson State University) I did my student teaching at East Flora High School in Flora, MS. The experience was rewarding because it let me know what I wanted to do with my life.
I married Henry Harper Jr. in 1970. We had three children. Kenneth Juan ,Nikki, and Camille. Kenneth the oldest passed away in 2005
Henry Passed away in 2006. I retired from Delphi Packard Electric with 30 yrs. of service in 2001.
I built a house and moved back home to Pocahontas in 2007. Have two beautiful grandchildren. Kendall and Patrick.
I work as membership chairperson of the Sumner Hill Alumni Association. We had our third ...Expand for more
school Reunion in June 2015. The turnout was beautiful. We had a wonderful time.
Our class 50th year anniversary was in 2015. Things did not pan out for our celebration because of the Sumner Hill School Reunion. We haven't had our 2015 Reunion because of the Coronavirus, if it's the Lord will, we'll try again in July 2022.
I try to stay busy and spend my time wisely. Love being retired. Since I retired, I'm spending time with my granddaughter Kendall. I'm putting the time into her that I couldn't put in my children. I'm busy working in my church in various capacities on a regular basis.
God has blessed me and I owe all of my success in life to him.
