Jonathan's Story
Life
First the Earth cooled, then the dinosaurs came....skipping ahead a bit, I was on my junior varsity swim team at St. Joseph's, made all county, graduated in the middle of the class and lived up to my guidance counseller's low ball expectations. I think he is still recovering from the nervous breakdown I put him into!!!
The Navy was an excellent adventure, it gave me a chance to travel, meet new friends, and grow up a little. I served on the Fulton(submarine tender) for 2 years, then transferred to the Pargo (submarine) for another 2 years. The last cruise on the Pargo was marked by visiting the North Pole, meeting Senator Al Gore (yes, THAT AL Gore), and visiting Alaska, Hawaii, and CA on the way home.
My civilian life has been quiet, marked by alot of travel, moving, and earning my Associates Degree in CT. I currently live in DE with my new wife, our Jack Russell, and settling into our new house. I am currently attending Wilmington University and work as a Committee ...Expand for more
Chair and OA Chapter advisor for Boy Scouts.
I never forgot the people who have come in and out of my life. Whether you want to say hi or reconnect, just drop a line.
School
Sad to say, but I was not a happy camper through much of high school. I had good times and good friends, but the school part was not pleasant always. The hard times were a growing experience which did help when I went through tougher times later in life. Do it again? You bet, though I think I would be less of a goofball and study a little harder. Truthfully, I had alot of teachers say I livened class up with my antics.
Military
Ah yes, the military was definitely a good choice for me. Serving my country, seeing all different parts of the world, and having the time of my life. Being third generation military, I pretty much had it in the blood. Boot camp in Orlando, the submarine service in Groton, visiting the North Pole and Hawaii, and finally the Gulf War were the points of my service that stand out most.
