Jonathan's Story

I lived in Santa Cruz from 1974-1982 and played with lots of local bands and finally got my music degree at UC Santa Cruz. I then toured with "The Elvin "Bishop Band" and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown playing pedal-steel guitar, guitar, and saxophones. I quit the road in 1985 and worked as a technical writer, then a system's administrator, and then a systems programmer at HP and Sun Micro. I got married to Anne and lived in my mom's old house in Palo Alto (she and my dad died in 1980) from 1983-1991. I bought my present place in Fall Creek, OR (near the U of O and Eugene, OR) in 1989 and moved there in 1991. It's an A-frame out in the c...Expand for more
ountry with 11 acres. Anne left in 1995 after we tried to beat her addictions and failed. I worked at the U of O Computing Center from 1992-2005 during which time I married Hilary. I retired in 2005 and take care of 3 rentals and still play music and hang out with Hilary, my dog Emmy, and friends around the Eugene/Springfield area. I've got a couple local bands going these days (see texastoasters.com and rustystill.com). I just hooked up with Geoff Haning and John Paddock again.
