Joseph's Story
Joseph is from Butler, Pennsylvania. He is Married with Amy Gray Johansen. His schools include Fitch High School. He later attended Old Dominion University and studied Business Management, Communications. He works(ed) at COMPHIBRON SIX, USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41), Afloat Training Group - Norfolk.

I was born in Chelsea MS, mostly raised in Groton CT, lived in Butler PA for 2 1/2 years (became a Steelers fan), and enlisted in the Navy in JUN90. I became an Elder in early 1991, got married on 24SEP93, became a Daddy on 27JUN95, 10OCT97 and 20AUG01, became a Naval Officer in JUL02, and became Elders Quorum President in JUN07.
I've served on USS EL PASO (LKA-117), USS FINBACK (SSN-670), Submarine Squadron SIX staff, Atlantic Fleet Commander's staff, NROTC Hampton Roads Student and various company/battalion positions, USS WINSTON S CHURCHILL (DDG-81), USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD-44), Afloat Training Group Norfolk, USS WHIDBEY ISLAND (LSD-41), and COMPHIBRON SIX. I want command of my own ship. Many of my friends are talking retirement, or changing communities within the Navy, but Command at Sea has been my focus since I started applying for commissioning programs.".
