Joseph's Story
After High School I enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed on the minuteman sites in North Dakota. I returned home in June 1975 but then I spent a half year living in Christian communes. I then bummed around awhile, took a low-paying job and in 1976 I started attending NCACC. I graduated from there with an associate degree in accounting. I stayed at NCACC for another year studying journalism. I spent the next 20 years working a variety of occupations and constantly trying to answer a question I'd had since childhood, "What do I want to be when I grow up?" Still working on answering that question.
In 1989 I met the woman I finally married in 1991 and in the process took on a ready-made family with three step-children. Since then the kids grew up and we now have 10 grandchildren.
Along the way I was active in the Easton Jaycees having held several offices there. I also was co-owner of a store for about one year and ran a flea-market business for a couple of years. I've been a deacon in the church and am currently a ruling elder in Christ Community Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Easton.

I currently both work for a Christian Publishing Company (P & R Publishing Co.) where she works in Customer Service and I manage the Shipping/receiving Dept.
We are very active in the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) as well as our church and helping our kids and grand-children.
I never was an in-patient in a hospital until 2000 when my appendix went. No sooner did I recover from that then I needed angioplasty on 3 blocked arteries. A few months later, I had a heart-attack and received triple by-pass surgery. There were more angioplasties over the years, but essentially I'm fine now.
Between this and several other close calls with death (getting hit by cars and a truck, being shot at, etc.) as well as seeing how many of my friends and relatives as well as classmates have passed away has given me a much changed perspective on what is important in life. I now realize there is nothing more important than God and people. It is largely because of this and missed opportunities with some who have died that I have begun reaching out to those I've known in the past.
I hope to reconnect with many of you!
Joe
