Joseph's Story
I remember well Eddie Despart, Richard Hahn, Joe Roberti and a few others. We and the 'rest of the small gang' had great fun together, "growin' up" (c. 1949-53) but not actually succeeding too well in 'stayin' otta trouble' in and around Whitehall Rd, 2nd Ave. & Delaware Ave. and otherwisely 'doing-our-thing' around the neighbood. I distinctly recall our killin' time after school hours playin' knife on the front lawn of the school . "Most Interestingly," however, for me, whenever I happily dwell on my school-days, I have lingering, pleasant thoughts regarding the two - or perhaps as many as three - unforgetably beautul and adorablly spright girls in school 23 of whom at various undeterminable times I was secretly, hopelessly, shamelessly, devilishly in love with but I could never, ever bring myself to tell them. t whenever I was close to them and saw them my pulse pretty-much, more or less, puerilely quivered, so uncontrollably, as might well be the case for any such awkward young boy of 12 or 13. Since then, I've been to a few other places in the world and have maintained residences (presently Biloxi, MS) in some of our States. It's no mean trusm to say that it was the honest-fact then - and most assuredly has to be so true today - that the women in Albany NY are 'the'' most beautiful creatures in the world. Sorry to 'get off' on that very important tangent but I just felt it was something that 'needed to be said' in terms of ensuring we fully understand one other if we all are going to 'visit' this site from time to time. Hopefully, this will - at least in part - earnestly address the matter as to "what I've been up to" and "where I've been."
