Joyce's Story
Life & Our Family:
Dave and I were married in Vallejo April 25,1958. Our before picture was taken in 1959 and the now picture was taken in 2007 at our 50 Th anniversary
We have 4 grown married children, Joy, Evelyn, Daniel and David.
We moved from California to Oklahoma after Dave retired from 20 years in the Navy, we now live in Oklahoma. West of Tulsa, OK
Dave retired again in 2000 and I retired February 1, 2002.
We have 10 Beautiful grand children; Greg, Mike, Eric, Donald, Jessica, Ashley, David, Hannah, Becky, & Audrey.{We lost Eric in 2005 to cancer}
We also have 9 Great grand children, 5 boys Gabriel, David #1, David #2 Nathan & Garrett. The 4 girls are Sadie, Alivia, Madilyn & Hannah.
We spend a lot of our spare time on the computer, We like to go to genealogy libraies and cemeteries traceing our Ancestors, Due to our health the past 3 years we haven't been able to do any traveling.I attend & participate in church functions, and TOPS {Take off pounds sensibly}. School
I started school in Richmond, Calif. Sept 1944. Then moved to Ok & went to 1 ST thru 3 Rd grades at Franklin grade school in Okmulgee, about 1948 my family moved back to Richmond, Calif and I went to 3 Rd & 4 Th grade at Belding school, in abt 1950 we moved to Vallejo, Calif where I went to 5 Th & 6 Th grades at Carquinez Heights grade school, then to Franklin Jr High to 7 TH & 8 TH grades, then to Hogan Jr High to 9 TH & 10 TH grades, finally to Vallejo Sr high school to 11 & 12 TH grades & graduated in June 1958.
Workplace
I am really enjoying being retired, I honestly don't know where I ever found the time to work full time.
I spend a lot of time on the computer receiveing & sending E-mail to friends and family, I also do genealogy researching and play computer games.
I have conected with Family members I didn't know I had through my genealogy research and have reconected with High school friends that I had lost touch with over the years.
