Juanita's Story
I was from Escondido. Lived next to Saint Mary's Church and attended Saint Mary's Elementry School. My mom cooked for the nuns there. My first year at ALF I was as day student and rode back and forth to school with a couple of other girls. Ashamed to say I cannot remember their names. For three years I borded and graduated in 1963.
I am happily married. Have two children and three grandchildren. Missouri has been good to me. I learned to camp and love the out of doors. I spent 25 years making loose leaf binders and packaging information products. I retired about six months ago from a wonderful company that prod...Expand for more
uces alarm systems. All I can say is retirement is good. My mother is 96 years old and is still going strong and keeping me in line. lol
One of my favorite times at ALF is when I stayed and worked after the school year was over. Theresa Kenealey (misspelled) (she was a grade or two below me.) We went out at night to catch frogs to feed to the snakes for Sr. Gasper's Lab. Well, we didn't cover the pail good enough. So when the sisters went to the chapel the next morning little suprises were hoping down the hallways. Oh yeah, we heard about it. There were a lot of frogs. Anyone remember the noise they used to make?
