Juanita's Story
Life
I married my best friend Milos 30 years ago and we have three children ages 26, 24 and 23. We currently live in Munster, IN.
School
I can only think of one teacher that inspired me to do my best, and that was in 8th grade. It was Miss Rosemarie Sacauskas. High school was ok. My favorite teachers were Fr. Ambre and Mr. Mehok.
If I had to do it all over again, I would, high school was fun, social and sometimes embarrassing. Retreats were always a good time. Graduation a sad time, not seeing classmates anymore.
The funnest school memories were the basketball/football games. The craziest memories were preparing and performing in our Concert Choir Concerts and having Fr. Winterlin yell at us and just being plain nervous.
College
I went to Robert Morris College in Chicago, where I have made lifelong friends that I still have to this very day.
It was a lot of fun to be 18 years old and in the CITY. We would have 2-3 hours between classes and just get lost all over downtown Chicago. Sometimes we would find Movie locations and get to stand back and watch the filming! Once in a while we would get autographs from movie stars too!
Workplace
After Robert Morris College, I was hired at WLAK Radio, which is currently, WLIT, Lite FM, 93.9 FM.
It was the dream job of a lifetime. Besides working, we had parties all the time. I got to meet celebrity DJ's like Larry Lujack and Jonathon Brandemeier, celebrities in our studios because they would come in for interviews and the staff was just plain fun.
I got to establish our music library because all the studio had were LP's, so when CD's happened, I got to shop all over Chicago to make sure we had CD’s of the music we played on air.
I got to make my own cassettes using the best studio equipment, the DJ's taught me how to run the board, which is what they do on-air. On occasion, my voice was used for commercials as well.

ing in Yugoslavia, Budapest, Hungary, London, England, Texas and Japan. After that, we settled in Hanover Park, IL where we started our family. After living there for 9 years, we moved back home to be closer to our families. My husband has been at his job now for 32 years and is located in Des Plaines, IL. He has a 3 hour commute to and from work...everyday. All three of our children went to St. Thomas More School in Munster, and graduated from Munster High School. Our two sons graduated from Purdue University. Our eldest is a Chemical Engineer and is working as a Chemical Engineering Patent Analyst in Evanston. He is currently in Law School as well. Our next son studied Marketing/Business working at an Advertising Agency in Chicago. Our daughter graduated Magna Cum Laude, from LIM College, in Manhattan, New York City. Her degree was in Fashion Media. She is currently working for Le Labo fragrances, as their Social Media Coordinator. Le Labo is a branch of Estée Lauder.
I've been very fortunate to be a stay at home mother to raise my children and not miss a single milestone in their lives. It is something I will never forget and enjoyed with all of my heart. I've had many jobs throughout my life, mostly on part-time basis because of me being at home with my kids. For the past 17 years I have done part-time work and more recently full time work at the Board of Elections/Registration office at the Government Complex in Crown Point, IN.
How do I pass the time? I enjoy getting together with friends and classmates from Harbor Catholic and BNI. I also enjoy traveling. I've seen a lot and I've done a lot and it never gets boring.
We hope to be able to retire in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico one day. It's a beautiful and calming place to live.
In a nutshell....God has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband, beautiful children and a wonderful life. Yes, there are always bumps in the road and many obstacles, but...we just push ourselves through them, pick ourselves up, dust off our shoulders and keep on going!
