Judy's Story

Greetings Classmates and Graduates of 1966. I retired 4 years ago from International trade and married my hubby a month later. We purchased a little rambler on a little lake in Cambridge MN., and are enjoying canoeing, square dancing, fishing, playing cards, entertaining and being grandparents. I have "fluffed out" since the 25th class reunion, and sure do enjoy that most important food group: Chocolate! Hope to hear from all of you! Judy Joy (Ziemer) Last year I checked off an item from my BUCKET LIST. I purchased a trike. A Suzuki Burgman 650cc custom trike, and took to the back roads riding and discovering small towns. Yup, Harley boots, helmet and a whole lot of fun! This yr, however, grief and heartache overtook our lives as our little granddaughter, Faith Constance, was born into heaven. We cherish the knowledge that the first thing Faith's eyes beheld was Jesus. Praying you Cherish every day. Judy Hello Class of 1966! August 25, 2018 is the day for our big, BIG 70th Birthday Bash at Elsie's Bowl in NE Mpls (Just 2 blocks from good old St Anthony of Padua) from 6 PM to 2 AM! Come one and all for the best Birthday party ever!! Submit a blurb and pictures for the 70th Bday Bash Book that Kate Bendel is putting together. Catch up on what is happening with all the gals you went to school with. Enjoy and savor every day... Judy Joy (Ziemer) 763-670-6293 UPDATE: SEPT. 2019 Greetings Everyone! It is now September 2019, and life is still beautiful. We have had a few bumps in the road this past year but survived and are flourishing. My hubbies fall and consequent brain bleed has healed. No surgery needed. We are trying to eat healthier, and fix up our home for the upcoming winter. He has the Parkinson's under control with medication. Moving a bit slower, but such a positive attitude. He had to give up his Harley, because of the balance issues, but not to be without a toy, he picked up a real cute BMW Z3 two seater 5 speed convertible. Now that thing is fun! Besides, we still have my Trike. Not quite ready to give that baby up. Update on my son Joe: He loves life and working out ... JuJitsu. He works out every day in his gym, and his buddies and friends are over a few days a week working out with him. His brain injury is what it is. The headaches and fogginess drain him, and each day he never knows until he wakes how he will function. His girlfriend and her son are a blessing, and he loves to show her son how to fish etc. His ...Expand for more
daughter Elizabeth just married this year. A perfect outdoor wedding along the Mississippi. Bagpipes, kilts, the whole shebang. His two boys are growing up fast. My daughter Jennifer is also an inspiration. The white matter brain disease that attacked her with a vengeance last year, keeps progressing, and she has had three more episodes. Both lobes of the brain are affected. At least now she knows what it is and can respond responsibly. She is eating all natural foods, is very active, and is taking many herbal supplements with the hope of slowing the disease. She is the thread that binds her family together. Always the strong one. Her 3 boys ... or should I say her 3 young men, Cody 29, Benjamin 25, and Nolan 16, and her Hubby all hold her in high regard. She is the constant in their lives. The adventuress, the main bread winner, the glue that holds her family together. She love life, loves laughter, loves her family and friends. An animal lover, she has 4 dogs, a kitty, and a tortoise. She makes the best Jam and Jellies. She loves hiking, spelunking, horse back riding, and concerts. She knows her time is limited here, and is making each moment count. Eliza Genevieve was born 9 months ago to my youngest daughter HannaMaria Joy. She is the only grandchild with a hint of red highlights in her hair. Her siblings, Levi 4, and MinnaFaye 3, are delighted. My dad passed on 9/11/2018. Fitting he passed that day. It was on 9/11/44 that he was in Japan, on a suicide mission where he and his crew sunk 5 enemy ships. He was the last of his squadron to pass at age 96 1/2. A true military hero. Me? Doing okay. Better than okay. The sun is shining, and have plans to paint the fence today. My hubby is power washing it now. Going to redo the living room. I purchased a wall mural (wall paper) that we need to figure out how to put up and frame. It is 7' x 10'. Should make some kind of statement, that's for sure. Does not go with anything we have, so we are on an adventure ride to figure out the room. Going hot air ballooning soon...just waiting for favorable weather to go ... have the tickets. That will be another thing checked off the bucket list! I am planning on surprising my hubby with a segway tour soon also. So another check off the list when accomplished. That is all for now. I wish you life, love, and blessings. May your spirit be at peace knowing that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior loves and cherishes you, His beautiful child. Judy Joy
