Julia's Story

Life Wow it's been 20+ years. I can't believe it's been that long. I couldn't wait to get out of school. Now I wish I stayed in contact with my friends. I joined classmates to look for 2 of my three best friends and it worked. I keep in contact, not like I should, but at least we connected. My third best friend just contacted ME today! I was a late bloomer. Married in 92 at 25 and had my first child in 1998 which I lost when I was only 4 1/2 months pregnant. GOOD ADVICE: TAKE FOLIC ACID BEFORE YOU CONCEIVE. IT CAN SAVE THE LIFE OF YOUR UNBORN CHILD AND PREVENT NEURAL TUBE DEFECTS. Then I had a beautiful little girl in 1999 and she's the best thing that ever happened to me. I now know there is a reason that God made women have babies when they're young! I wish I had half her energy. I hope everyone has had a good life since graduation. My adult life was shaky at first, but then I got married and was forced settle down and grow up. I made a lot of mistakes in the past, but I don't have any regrets. You live by your mistakes, so I've chalked it up to experience! I'm now divorced YAYYYYYYYYYY!! and moved back to Louisville in September 08. Keep in touch. School I hated school. I loved the academics but hated the social part. My favorite teacher is Dan Smith. I had him as a band instructor when I started 6th grade. I learned alot from him. Not only music but about life. I always respected him and how he handled crisis. If you knew Mr. Smith, you were scared of him if you did something wrong! I connected with him through Facebook, but would love to see him again! Even though I hated marching band, (just the marching part) I always missed not having him as a teacher because I quit after 10th grade. College I only went about a year and ...Expand for more
a half. Majored in Accounting. The day after high school graduation, I was on a plane to New York. I started working that Monday and went to school in the fall. I worked part time while going to school, then started to cut back on classes until I eventually got home sick for Kentucky. I moved back home in 86. Workplace I started running real estate title searches when I was 15. That's what I did in New York. When I came back home to Kentucky in 86, I couldn't find a job in Louisville, so I went west to Owensboro. Worked for an attorney doing closings as an escrow agent. Eventually they moved me to receptionist while I typed title policies and got bored, so I went back to Louisville and worked at Chicago Title doing searches. Then I tried the self employment thing and ran titles on my own for clients. An accident a month later made me realize I needed insurance, so I worked for one of my attorneys I did titles for. Then I met my now EX who lives in Hardinsburg and could not commute so I went back to the attorneys in Owensboro. Then I "defected" to the mortgage company (Great Financial) that the attorneys represented and did closings there. That was a great move for me because eventually Great Financial sold to Star Bank and we had an ~~excellent~~ ESOP. Then my (finally last)current job opened up right in Hardinsburg, 5 minutes from home. This was actually THE best move I've made. I can say this is the best place I've worked for. Even though it's "corporate", it's still family oriented and they actually CARE about you. I've been at Farm Credit over 10 years and this is the longest I have ever been at one place at one time! Well I have been in 3 different offices but I was able to transfer to the main office here in Louisville. I'm on a roll....
