Julia's Story
Life
It seems like my life is continuous movement . . . After graduating from Oshkosh North High School, I attended and graduated from Carroll College in Waukesha, WI. I met my husband, Steve, while there and married soon after graduating. We moved to Washington, DC where I began writing for a non-profit organization.
In 1988, we moved to Caracas, Venezuela where Steve became a member of a law firm. I learned Spanish and had lots and lots of fun . . . Caracas was a wonderful place to live.
We moved back to Washington in 1990 and I continued my work as a writer. In 1992, we became parents to our oldest son, and I also entered law school at the District of Columbia School of Law, graduating 1995.

we moved to Guatemala City, Guatemala where we lived for 6 years. During that time, we adopted our daughter and our youngest son. In that time, I became Director of Communications for the U.S. Agency for International Development.
In 2002, we moved back to Washington, where I continued my career in public relations for the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
In 2005, we moved to Managua, Nicaragua. I began teaching school to high schoolers and really loved it.
In 2007, we moved back to Washington, DC -- I currently teach (yes, yikes!) 9th and 11th grade English at a local high school.
I would love to hear from any of my classmates -- it was especially fun seeing so many of you at our last reunion!
