Julianne's Story
Life
Tried college, quit after one year. Married Sean Kelly in 1988. He's career Army. We continue to travel all over the USA (Alaska, Washington, New York, Michigan, Kansas)--wherever the Army needed us. Have 3 kids: girl (born '93) and 2 boys (born '97 and '98). Sean retired in 2007 after 20 years active duty. We settled in KS (it was our last duty station and the jobs are plentiful---nobody really PLANS to live in central Kansas!!).
Workplace
Worked odd jobs while attending college. Married a career Army soldier and found work on base in the Post Exchange Personnel Office. Quit work when the...Expand for more
babies started arriving. Once I got all the kids into school, I went back to work full time as a school registrar. I have GREAT respect for stay-home-moms but I am really bad at it.
The future...
I hope to survive the teen years with my kids and I hope to find a way to afford college for them if that's what they choose. I'd love to go back to college myself now that I have some sort of idea of who I want to be when I grow up. It was my hope that my 20's would prove better than my high school years and that my 30's would be better than my 20's and my 40's would be better than my 30's. So far...so good.
