Life
Hey there strangers~ Well Im not sure if you can believe it, I know I cant believe that it's been seven years since leaving K-M behind. So what have these past years been like for Miss Julie Gibson, well that part has already been changed. I am Mrs. Julie Matthews now, yep I got married. We celebrated our one year this past June 19th, he's a great guy but a K-M rival from Kentridge ;).. Sorry couldent hold that against him. I have to say our wedding was amazing, we had a big family wedding at Tracy Castle (this big mansion designed like a castle). Where I had a horse drawn carriage take me to the aisle, and our bulldog Rocky as the ring bearer (tux and all). See I told you I was a princess back in high school, just kidding. Right now we have a house in Covington, but we are planning to some day soon move to the bright lights of *Sin City* Las Vegas. I have been a Vegas-a-holic ever since my 21st birthday, when a fellow K-M chic Dawn Swain, and my sister and her boyfriend (now fiancee) took me and partied with me for pretty much 72 hours straight. I have since been back countless times, and can't wait to call it my home. I mean come on compared to Kent, even Seattle for that matter, that place just Rocks. Even if I do move, you all know I'll be back come reunion time. What would the ten year be without the Senior Best's Most Outgoing female, LOL!!
College
After high school my plan was to take one year off and then go on to college. Well one year turned into three, but during that time I had lots of fun interesting jobs. I worked at 24 hour fitness, microsoft, amour on the blvd, etc. Wide range of...Expand for more
job fields, kind of stuck my foot in everything and seen what fit. I had always wanted to go into radio broadcasting so finally I came to a point in my life that I figured why not give college and that career a shot. So I enrolled at Green River CC, they have an awesome radio program. First time On-Air I fell in love. Im a huge music lover, so it was such a great feeling being able to pick songs to go out onto the air waves. A year after starting at KGRG 89.9 I got my first real big time radio internship at 107.7 The End. I got to work with Andy Savage and The Morning End, at first I was basically the coffee girl, but then I started doing the traffic and snow patrol reports. It was such an amazing feeling being On-Air at a top rated Seattle station, and it was so cool when people I knew started calling me and saying "hey I heard you on the radio this morning". My time there was such a blast I got to meet celebrities, muscians, WWF wrestlers, etc. Down the line though I had to make a decision if this was really the career for me. In radio you kind of have to be willing to move around, and its very competitive. So after lots of debate, I think I'm still debating to this day becuase I loved it so much, I moved on to a more stable career. Right now Im a medical receptionist, at a Medi-Spa in Issaquah. We do all the fun spa treatments along side of some of the more drastic ones like laser hair removal and Botox. Its a really relaxing, fun job, hey where else can I work and have a massage therapist close by if I get a headache :). Dont know what the future holds for my career, but right now Im happy where I am.
