Julie's Story
Life
Life is good. Married to a wonderful man, have two boys and our little girl arrived in Dec06. We are currently residing back in California - Camp Pendleton for a few years. My main focus is raising our children, but I also keep up with my nursing career by working part time. No longer an active reservist, I maintain a connection with the Naval Reserve in an inactive status.
Missed many of my old friends at the reunion, hope more of you will join us next time around. Was nice to be back in the area if only for a night.
College
SJSU was a good experience - was glad to get that BS Nursing degree. Now am considering advancing that but am unsure of what I want to do when I grow up. Need something I can easily study while the stress/chaos of daily life endures. Am now looking for a "second" quiet career that will be easy to wrap around the needs of our kids.
Workplace
Working just the right amount of time now. Two days a week in the Post Anesthsia Care Unit (Recovery Room). Gives me a break from the mommy side of life, reminds me that ...Expand for more
I do have a professional side of life and can relate to adults effectively.
Military
As my first duty station, I enjoyed Bremerton,WA very much - scenery, outdoor activities, nursing experience, & of course the best coworkers. Went from ENS to LT there, met & married Brian.
Guam was great for the first year or so, but by the end of year two I was ready to get back to family & friends. Brought back the best souvenir, our first son. Loved diving in Peleliu/Palau. Met some wonderful people and would love to hear from any of you.
Off active duty in Aug2002 to be mommy. Stationed with Brian at Camp Pendleton,CA. Nice to be close to family & reconnected with a few old friends while here. Still not sure CA life is for me - too many people & too much cement.
Aug2004, am I ever so glad to be back in the NW again. If you're in town, give us a call. Have transferred to the Inactive Reserve in early Spring 2007 as I cannot support deployments with three little ones. I now just working part time as a civillian RN at Bremerton Naval Hospital.
