Julie's Story

Life Hi everyone! Well let's see. After leaving the QCI's 2 days after Grad, I went to Quesnel for a year. I had stopped there to see Tammy Olmstead graduate. I ended up staying. Over the course of the year I met some people that I wanted to stay in touch with. I left there the end of June 01 and moved down to Vancouver. I got a place with a friend that I knew. I worked and partied and had a good time. I got a call the following Feb that my girlfriend from Quesnel had moved to North Van and had a baby. Of course I went over met her new beau and baby. THEN I met his brother. We have been married almost 11 years now. Funny how things work out at the funniest times. He had brought his daughter to Van with him and we have been a family ever since. We moved out to Alberta Nov of 93, best idea we ever had. We moved back to the town that Alan grew up in. Britty was born here, now 3rd generation raised in the same town. That is important to some people. She is now 15 and just like mom. (me, oops, I tried) I have never been able to have any kids of my own, so I have done my best with my step-daughter. We have made a good life for ourselves. We have 7 acres of land and home. We are out of town and that is perfect, the quiet is nice. We have a Ford F150 7700 that gets us where we need to go. Whitecourt is a small town, not like home, maybe 9500 people. We have World Class Jet boat races here and lots of good fishing, not like home fishing though. Plenty of things ...Expand for more
to do, just need to have the time off to enjoy them. We haven't got a nice boat yet, but our 14' aluminum takes us across the lakes just fine. As long as it is a nice day, not choppy. Otherwise, life is just plain happy. Alan and I work very hard, he drives truck in the oilpatch moving rigs, I am detailing vehicles right now. I do have my class 1 as well and as soon as Britt is 18, I am on the road too. We would love to retire by 55, we'll see. Anyways, I hope I have not bored the pants off of anyone. Hope your lives are as happy as mine. I will be 36 when I get to go on the road and wait for the grandkids, lots of time to work hard. Well Britty didn't make 18 before grandbaby is going to arrive, but nothing can be done except wait for the bundle of joy to arrive, July 2007. New truck, Ford F150 SuperCrew Gretzky Edition with 6" lift and 35" rubber, ya know, my kind of wheels. Will post pic of baby when arrives and truck today. Love my trucks!! Am going to be hauling gravel end of Feb now that Britt is doing her own thing as a parent. Will update with info later. xmas 2007 Well, not going on the road now. I am raising my grandaughter for now. Will see in a couple of years. I am still going to be working, in the Alberta Oilpatch, rebuilding the valves and well heads etc. Just goes to show, you never know what is going to happen. You can make all the plans you want, doesn't mean you'll get to follow through. Take care all and best wishes for '08.
