Julia's Story
Life
I am living in Jesup, GA, working at Ivy Funding, married to an insurance representative who's the greatest guy, at least for me. I have two children, really young adults: Jaci, 23 who is mother to the first grandchild, Gwendalyn Rose and expecting another in November and Wade, 20. Life's not overly exciting, but I enjoy traveling often as possible and being with family and friends. I have been to Costa Rica, Mexico, Bahamas, and a few places in U.S. I went to Nicaragua in November of 08. It was very exciting and life changing to see how people can be happy with so little. My favorite place is Costa Rica, paradise, but will be glad to go anywhere soon.
College
I hated school so bad that I waited years before going back to college. I finally went back to VSU and graduated from GA Coastal Community College in 2001. I went to the University of Costa Rica for a semester in 2000. ...Expand for more
It was the greatest part of all my school career. I saw volcanoes and trekked through the rain and cloud forests. I enjoyed a weekend to Manuel Antonio National Park where there are beaches, iguanas, monkeys, parrots, and other animals that would walk right up to me. I had some fun professors, but I had to work hard to please some. I finally got my BS in Bus Admin: Accounting-exciting! I do taxes and accounting, mostly for small businesses and individuals. I am now working on certification to be a CPA. It should help my small tax service to grow.
Workplace
I have prepared taxes and bookkeeping for more years than I want to count, but now it makes a great hobby that generates extra $$ for fun. I enjoyed the privilege of staying at home with kids until they both were in school. Now, also I work part-time with Ivy Funding in Savannah as an administrative manager. I am loving it.
