One of Julio's favorite quotes is:"Invictus Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. William Ernest Henley "Great moments are born from great opportunity. You shouldn't have any doubt in your mind about what you are supposed to do tonight and about how you are supposed to do it. This is your time. Now, I don't want them to gain another yard. We gotta go out there and we gotta take it. Take their game and you shove it right back in their face. Thats how winning is done Team is something you belong to, something you feel, something you have to earn. If we don't come together, it's over. And i guarantee a week won't go by in your life you won't regret, walking out letting them get the best of you. I'll ask you one last time to be the best that you could be. Play like champions. Win. It's about heart. It's about who can go out their and play the hardest. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. I don't care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game. In my book we're gonna be winners. In any fight it's the guy who's willing to die, willing to take the hits, who's going to win that inch. Let me tell you something, you don't let anyone, nothing, come between us. On this team we fight and we shut them down, because we can." "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some; it is in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give ot...Expand for more
her people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others." Nelson Mandela. "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!" - Rocky Balboa from "Rocky Balboa "It's not Who I Am, But What I do, that Defines Me." From Batman Begins. "Sometimes, the Loudest messages we send to others, is the ones where we do nothing." Julio J.A Camacho "Evil only succeeds, when good people stand by and do or say nothing." "It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uniteresting person you talk to may one day be a creature which . . . you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All Day long we are, in some degree hleping each other to one or the other of these desinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities, it is with the awe and circumspection proper to them, that we should conduct all our dealings with one another: All friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people! You have never met a mere mortal. Nations, Cultures, Arts, Civilizations- these are mortal, and their life is to our life as the life of a gnat. But it is with immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit - Immortal Horrors or Everlasting Splendors." - C.S. Lewis "If we could look into each others hearts and understand the unique challenges each of face, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care. If the adversary can influence us to pick on each other, to find fault, bash, and undermine, to judge or humiliate or taunt, half the battle is won. Why? Because though this sort of conduct may not equate with succumbing to grievious sin, it nevertheless neutralizes us spiritulally. The Spirit of the Lord cannot dwell where there is bickering, judging, contention, or any kind of bashing." Marvin J. Ashton “The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson “All individuals are different and some of us just wouldn’t be satisfied with just carrying out a routine job and being happy.” – Walt Disney". Very true. No wonder we're commanded to be grateful. God knows how rough it can be. If we have gratitude, it can help make things more tolerable.
