June's Story
Life
Hi high school classmates from Pattonville High School. . . especially those of you from Class of '88!. . . Can you guys believe that time has flown by so quickly, and we've almost been out of high school for twenty years???
Currently, I'm lovin' life in St. Louis suburbia, and have visited PHS throughout the years to judge when Pattonville hosts its' debate tournament or for work-related reasons (special education). In my spare time, I enjoy loving God and admiring His creations and the wonderful world that we live in!
School
I have to say that I really enjoyed high school, and there is not much that I would do differently. Looking back, it's amazing to realize how much I've grown up and matured, and I realize that I don't quite think the same way that I once did.
The teacher that inspired me the most was Mr. Pierce, my debate coach. Learning how to speak in public has been one of my most beneficial lessons, and has changed me in dramatic ways including increasing my self-confidence, and helping me out in the workplace. Another class which I found to be very beneficial was Typing. . ...Expand for more
. who would have thought that computers would have taken off the way that they have???
I don't really have any crazy or funny stories to share. . . I guess as I get older and approach forty, my memory has begun to fade! Who would have guessed that forty would be coming so soon???
College
Who would have thought that almost twenty years after high school graduation I would still be in college???. . . I guess I'm a little slow!
Workplace
Since high school I've done just about everything besides flipping burgers. . . amazingly, I think I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up (I guess I'm still working on the growing up part too!).
Currently, I work with students who have been diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders, and I find some aspects of this job very rewarding. One of my passions is advocating for/working with/empowering those who have been diagnosed with a disability. . . and this is what I have done in the past. Right now, I'm enjoying earning enough money to pay my house payment every month, and I keep hoping that maybe someday I'll win the lottery.
