Justin's Story
Justin is from Del Paso Heights, California. He is engaged with Stephen Hager. His schools include Grant Union High School. He later attended Sierra College (Transfer Studies, Liberal Arts, Psychology), Los Rios Colleges (Psychology, Liberal Arts), UC Davis (Education, Psychology, Human Development). I am a graduate student and an activist in the Queer and Asian community. I'm highly involved with the UC Davis' student organization APIQ (Asian & Pacific-Islander Queers) because the organization functions like a family to me.
I'm a third generation Chinese American citizen that knows how to speak a little bit of Cantonese, Mandarin, Lao, Thai, Japanese, and really bad Korean. I also know a good amount of ASL. I consider myself to be ethnically Chinese, but culturally Laotian. I grew up around my best friend's family almost all of my life until college, so I grew up in a Lao culture with Laotian friends, learning the lang...Expand for more

I got the name "Thun" because my best friends mother calls me that. It is pretty much one syllable out of my full name. If I was to give it a meaning, it would be somewhere along the lines of a "Tree" in Lao.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. I've been here like all of my life. I lived in Daly City for about a year which happened because of a traumatic experience, not because I wanted to. I've never been outside of the country yet, though I wish to travel abroad very soon.
Personality-wise, I'm calm, reserved, shy, humble. I am very considerate of other people at all times. I tend to keep to myself and I come off as being either anti-social or boring. I have a really dry sense of humor and often play off of dry sarcasm. I like to talk to other people about my interests in academics, music, languages, queer and Asian issues, etc.
I like to be very honest with my friends, so I don't hide things. I don't however open up to people very easily because of some trust problems caused by past friendships/relationships, so it takes me a while to feel comfortable enough with someone to tell them about my life or my problems. I do however love meeting new people and making new friends.
Well I will stop rambling on for now, maybe I'll add more to this later.
Take the time to get to know me, I swear, it would not be a total waste of time. Not to sound pretentious, but I've been told that I'm one of those friends that really makes a difference in a person's life... I think that means I'm a good friend, right?".
