Karen's Story
After Muir, I went to UCLA and was almost immediately married and had my first child! After my husband graduated (I we moved to Phoenix, his home town where we raised 3 children, born in '62, '65, and '67. Although we are still good friends, we divorced after 19 years. He was married to his job and I started a tile importing company in 1979 and married my job too!
My years of Spanish at Muir came in very handy since I spent 30 years traveling all over Mexico by private and commercial air, trains, buses, cars (but never by burro!) I remarried during those years and that union also came to an end after 19 years. Importing tile from Mexico ha...Expand for more
s been an unbelieveable joy. I closed my company and retired recently and am now living near the Sea of Cortez in Mexico with the love of my life. We've been together now for 20 years. Since we call ourselves "serial marriers" (twice for me and three times for him) we didn't make that mistake again . I've broken my 19 year record and we're still happy!
My daughter and 2 sons are healthy and successful and I have16 year old twin grandsons who travel worldwide with their hockey teams. Along with them, our family includes his daughter, 2 sons and 6 grandchildren, 2 dogs, 6 grand dogs, and countless homeless Mexican critters.
Life's been good!
