Karen's Story

I have 3 beautiful daughters and 7 grandkids, They are the loves of my life. I have been married 3 times and am now single and intend to stay that way! God blessed me with great people in my life. But things were not always so. Many of you remember I got pregnant at 18, but the "shotgun" wedding did not last and I am not sad about it. The day I got married was the day he (who shall not be named) decided to hit me. Didn't see that coming. Dated after that a lot and finally fell in love with a true gentleman that just happened to own his own business in Los Angeles. No, I didn't marry him for the money. He had a true sense of adventure and loved to go to different places every weekend. For those of you who live down there I don't have 2 talk about the commute. We fiinally moved out of there but some damage had been done. Remember, Betty Ford hadn't come out with the "Just say no" and for those of you that tried REALLY DUMB things before that, some of us had to go to rehab.(Meaning me) I have been clean and sober since and am damn proud of that. Anyway he wanted to continue doing previously mentioned dumb things and I did not. So we finally went our separate ways. It was really a hard time for me. I had always loved riding bikes (Harleys) and I married a 1% after that (if you don't know what that means, you don't want 2) He has since passed away. Regarding business, I owned my own business at 23,have been a Program Mgr , A Logistics Mgr, a Project Mgr (my personal Favorite) and have set up a company for a billion dollar company from China, this was dream come true, we always want think we know what's best and I got to do this. Free reign, It was a blast. From buying furniture, to hiring the VP of Sales, this was my legacy. They are now located in San Diego and I didn't want to move down there again. I like Northern CA better. I am thinking of moving to Washington state. I love the rain, and the cool weather and green surrounding me with mountains and lakes with cool waterfalls. Most especially the ocean. I lived in Pacific Grove for a while and was a block from Lovers Point. If you don't know where this is, it's between Carmel and Monterey, right before 17 Mile Drive) When Tiger was hot on the golf curcuit and he played there, we could rent out our houses for up to $5,000 for the 3 day event) Seen Tiger once and after that it's a paid vacation for 5 days. I wish I still lived there. Between Los Gatos and Pacific Grove it set up what I desire in a place to live. Those were the 2 hardest places to leave. I have a terrific best friend who I met 10 years ago after her husband died, and we always have fun together,(even though we fight like sisters, what do you expect, we are both Italian) I was adopted when I was 10 days old and have since found out that biologicaly, I am Scottish and a liitle Irish. My parents are still alive and I can never seem to find them as they travel ALL the time. My family and God mean the most to me, without whom I wouldn't be the person I am today. I like myself and like other people. I am interested in what everybody is up 2. Somebody email me ! I have a lot of people looking but no one talks back. I have sent out email messages and only 1 person replied. Thank you Curtis. It's nice knowng how people turned out. I hope each and every one of you have wonderfull life and are as happy as you can be! **For those of you who were at a certain party thrown by Amy Heil, I am very sorry. I don't remember 1 bit of that night. I was in a black out and I wish ...Expand for more
I could undo the things I have been told I did. I lost a lot of freinds that night and at 51 still can't remember. Just know I am a completly different woman from that crazy girl who was looking for love and acceptance and managed to push away so many people that I really cared about. It was life changing and heart-breaking to lose so much. Today I am responsible for my actions. I hope u can forgive a very mixed up girl. I always wanted to be a business owner when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dumb idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.( My Dad wanted me to be a lawyer and go to Standford. That could have worked out too if I had not been done those dumb things but I did go back to college. I go running when I am stressed. If I excersize it relaxes me and I love to be outside. I still swim all the time and want to learn yoga If I'm going to work somewhere I need to have a great chair, Ipad, and a good sense of humor to be able to deal with the day-to-day.of politics in management or ownership. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tom Bardin, because people didn't know he was super smart but had no commen sense and he was funny.. My kids have taught me that I love being a gramdma so I get to see the world through their eyes a second time and I am so blessed.I can take them places and show them new things and love when they can't yet pronounce all their words. They are so cuddly and loving like my kids were, and at 51 they still make me get on the floor and be the horsey, run around and pretend I can't run fast so they can catch me and the other day my 3 yr old woke me up with a flashight shining in my eye telling me it's daytime and time to get up. (Don't have any clue as to how long she was trying to blind me or play DR. with my face) If I won $100 million, I'd give 75% of it to charity and causes close to my heart, then spend the rest on of it on my , kids, grandkids and send my parents a big fat check for putting up with me.. My current age is 51. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be blue haired and on a rocking chair. I was so completely wrong.. I have acheived all my career aspirations except to write a book. My best friend would tell you I'm loyal and funny, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as they are afraid to talk to.me .( I hear this a lot after they get to know me, that they were afrraid to approach me. I still don't get it) Skinny jeans and lace tops, and well yeah the 70's is back in again, I just can't make myself wear big flares or tube tops. But I still love halter tops in black or real bright colors. Purple is my favorite color. And either sexy shoes or UGGS and platforms.(I am a shoeaholic) I also love skirts, either above the knee or long. My oldest frien is Lisa Bersano Scadden. Our Dad's knew each other in high school and college, and we have always been in the same school, listened to the same songs and even did the same work for a while. I can pick up the phone and we can talk like when we were 10 or even 6 and in 1st grade together. We played at recess together. I remember when she told me she first got kissed and i remember who it was.(No I am not telling) That's how it is when you've known someone that long. The first time I ever swam in a race I was seven and had been swimming for 2 weeks, and I broke all Saratoga's records in every race I swam. I was hooked on swimming after that and I firmly believe in skinny dipping when no ones around.
