Karen's Story

I'm a technology teacher in the Minneapolis Public Schools who escapes to Mexico once a year for fun in the sun (and catching Yellowtail and Marlin). Write me at karen helgesen 00 at google mail dot you know. I am working the Renaissance Festival every fall in the store Ethereal Threads. Old friend Karen Keen Knierim is the owner and I just sell her stuff. See her organic clothing at Wildrosefarm.com and you will see why I work for clothes. I also am working the Windustry booth in the Eco building at the Fair. Yea, wind power! I have two excellent children who make my life worth living. I hope you remember that Mike Stutzer and I were the Environm...Expand for more
ental Group at SLP. He was President, of course. I was the Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Karen Keen and I were the co-chairs of Cheer Committee which made all the signs for EVERYTHING. We also were members of KARE (Keep Actively Relating Equally), an inter-racial suburban/city group that many of you may not have know even existed back then. And, of course, I was a member of Redmond's Revolutionaries, the fearless Student Council! We staged the strike that allowed folks to protest the war. Favorite teacher? Ms Smigala. She rocked. And, Mr. W, the biology teacher and wrestling coach was good, too. (Sorry, I couldn't spell his name.)
