Karen's Story

Life I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1968 with a degree in Nursing. I have had a varied and fun career. I have been the nurse at the San Diego Zoo, a school nurse in Sicily, Italy, I have worked with HIV and Aids issues, I've taught health topics in detention centers and prisons, and I've worked with high-risk adolescents. My husband, Alan Pettersen, and I left the state of Minnesota in 1969. Alan spent 27 years in the Navy, so we have lived in many different places(ergo my various job opportunities). d as a baby). I also found 9 half-brothers and sisters. Alan and I have two daughters, both of whom are married, and we have 6 grandchildren. We have settled down in Dallas, Texas, for the past 6 years. We also have a cabin in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Because we have moved so many times, I have lost touch with many former school friends. I'd love to hear from anyone who has the time to write. College I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1968 with a degree in Nursing. What I remember most about my college years was crossing the Mississippi River bridge on campus in -40 degree weather. Does it still get that cold in Minnesota?
