Karen's Story

Our Life My Husband Joe and I were introduced by mutual friends while spending a Thursday night at a night club during college. We married in May 1992 and have lived and worked in Texas, first in the town where we met and went to school and now in Austin. Joe is a project manager/transportation engineer for the State of Texas Department of Transportation, a dedicated public servant. Our Kids Nathan is a sixth-grader, heavily invested in baseball and Boy Scouts. Benjamin is a third-grader, a snowcone entrepeneur and active in scouting and baseball also. Samuel, our youngest boy, is a motor mouth like his mother and is eager to do what the brothers are doing. They are all wonderful boys! They attend Catholic School in a neighb...Expand for more
oring town. I even drive the big yellow school bus most mornings! Our baby, Molly is 1-1/2 years old and is on the go, on the bus, to the store, to the ballpark - she gets a lot of attention and spreads joy whereever she goes. My Work/Life As usual, I am going in many different directions. I run two businesses from home, a medical transcription business and a Mary Kay cosmetics business. Both are challenging and rewarding in different ways but they allow our family enough of a second income that I get to make our children a priority. We are busy with our church, friends, the kids' school, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, baseball, and the other stuff that fills in around all that. God has blessed us indeed with a very good life.
