Karen's Story
When I was in doing 9th grade in Stewart Jr. High I met a guy 2-1/2 years older than me that was not going to school. Well needless to say I started missing school etc. until I was suspended. I did return at the start of the following school year, but ended up quitting again in '68 getting married and producing my now 44 year old son.(no grandkids).
My first husband, Bill and I were married for 23-1/2 years until he passed away in 1991. During that time I finished some of my schooling at home and high school at night in Lincoln. I chose not to do the grad thing and had my diploma mailed. At nineteen I started training in a one girl office learning office procedures and bookkeeping (hands on), moved on to taking classes and working for my oldest brother who had become a CPA. Went to Pierce College, (actually not all in the same timeframe). Have been in the accounting industry all my life since then. In addition I currently dabble in being an Avon Repres...Expand for more
entative.
Bought the house I originally was born at in 1970 by Wapato Park in Tacoma and lived there until 2003 when moved out of town to Spanaway after my father passed away in 2002.(mother passed in 1993).
Married again in 2012 and we are members at Gig Harbor Eagles and enjoy camping with the Vagabond Eagles Camping Club.
We have a real neat old dog named Bing who travels with us just about everywhere. We rescued him from the Humane Society 6 years ago when he was approx. 6 yrs. old(by their estimation) and he has been quite a bundle of joy until we had to let him go in 2014.
We enjoy going to the Buckley Log Show each year and camp at the Buckley Eagles club. I enjoy being a member of the Masonic Order of Eastern Star and Ladies Oriental Shrine in Tacoma.
I have made reservations to the reunions and then forgot to come! I pray that I will NOT forget to come to the next reunion. I would sure like to see some of my old classmates I knew at Stewart.
