Karen's Story
Life
I moved to Florida in 1981. I still work out a lot & am a sun worshiper. Before moving to Florida I achieved county, state, & national rankings in racquetball. I came to Florida and was a Club Pro at a club in Clearwater, Florida. I am very blessed to have the physical ability which launched my business and gave me the majority of my client base. Through sports I have met a lot of nice people. A great place to get clients that know you. I'm not the stereo type tax preparer. I try to make it a fun experience. My kids have four legs. My two cats, Zucchini Casserole & Poncho. He is the head Poncho. I firmly believe that there are no coincidents in life. Some people cross our path for only a minute. Others for longer periods of time. I may not know the reason why something has happened right away. It might take a year or more, but there is a reason. Workplace
Most of my work history is either working in Racquetball clubs or accounting and preparing taxes. When I still lived in N.J. in the 70's I taught racquetball at the Livingston Y.M.C.A. I then went on to be the club pro & social director at Off The Wall (fitting name for me!) racquetball club in Parsippany. I also worked at a club in Paramus. When I moved to Florida in 1982 I worked at the Suncoast Courthouse in Clearwater. I bartended, was social director, and was the teaching club pro. The first three years I prepared taxes I worked for Benficial Finance while I was building my own practice on the side. After three years I was able to go out on my own. Off tax season I do P.R. work for a friend of mine who has his own accounting practice. I can't sit in front of a computer all day long and do accounting. It is too dry for me. So I go out and try to get accounts for him.
