Karen's Story
Life
In 1996 I decided to pack up, leave Toronto and drive across the country to move to Vancouver, BC. The reason being? Why the hell not? Plus my sister was here five years prior to my moving and I was missing her. I've been here ever since and haven't looked back. Since then, I have received my Masters degree (commuting to Seattle every month for two years!) in Applied Behaivoural Science specializing in Systems Counselling, and am now a Family Counsellor for Hollyburn Family Services in North Vancouver. deep love and appreciation for his two boys, Fraser and Graham (now 26 and 24 respectively). My mom, and sister, Ainsley, live here with her husband, Roger,their son, Nash (10) and daughter, Luca (5). My father has finally surrendered to the fact that neither of his daughters were moving back to Toronto and has decided, along with his wife, to move to West Vancouver. I miss my closest friends who I left in Toronto but through emails and phone conversations we're able to keep our life long friendship close. I'm here to stay in Vancouver with the incredible ocean, mountains, skiing, sailing and hiking. Life is good.
