Kari's Story
Life
My husband Bruce and I are living in Southeast Tennessee with the Smokies in our backyard.. Having both retired we decided on a new adventure. The hiking, camping and kayaking are terrific, the people friendly and the atmosphere very down to earth.
My favorite job ever was the principal at Vacaville high school and I retired as an Executive Director missing the connection to students at the school level. Bruce was an officer and pilot for the CHP.
Grateful for the friends I have continued to have in my life from my days at Los Al and for the ones I have been able to re-connect with via fb or here on classmates.
School
I earned a BA in Psychology from Chapman College. I continued at Chapman in the Masters program in Counseling Psych. I returned to school a few years later and earned a teaching credential from CSULB in Social Science. I returned once again to school this time at University of La Verne (...Expand for more
ULV) where I earned a Masters in Educational Management and an Administrative credential. I returned for the last time to ULV and earned a doctorate in Educational and Organizational Leadership. Now I take classes for fun. Pottery is my current learning curve.
Workplace
My working career includes a memorable stint working at Flying Tigers. I started as a customer service agent at the World Service Center in high tiger at LAX. I worked mostly swing shift, made great friends, and traveled often.
I went to DFW as a traffic agent and then to LCK (Columbus Ohio) when they opened. At LCK I became a supervisor until 1987 when I left to start my career in education.
Well thats me in a nutshell. I am a fiercely independent thinker, lover of liberty, student of the Constitution (from my days teaching Civics) and a optimistic realist. Life is Good, God is great and People are crazy...I wouldn't have it any other way.
