Karie's Story
Life
On May 14, 2005, my parents, granny, and soon to be fiance' and his mother all flew down to Arkansas to attend my graduation from the University of the Ozarks. I graduated with honors (Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. I now reside in Duvall, Washington, a nice little town located outside of Seattle. I am engaged... so on July 1st, 2006, I will inherit the last name "Harris." I love BRETT with all of my heart and can't wait to get married and spend the rest of my life with him!
School
There is NO way in (*) I would do high school over again. I apologize to those of you who thought life revolved around high school and being popular... I've noticed where your lives have led you.
The teachers who inspired me the most were my second grade teacher (Mrs. Schwartz) and in high school, Mr. Paul and Mrs. Tousley.
College...Expand for more
The University of the Ozarks is a private, four-year liberal arts university located in Clarksville, AR. I learned A LOT about myself and people in general in college. I experienced life BEYOND Kooskia, Idaho, (THANK GOD FOR THAT!), and I brought back with me many life-long memories!
One of the more memorable college experiences for me was playing for the women's varsity tennis team! I played all four years of college earning Freshman of the Year, Most Improved, and Team Captain for the university. In the NCAA American Southwest Conference, I also earned ASC Player of the Week, ASC All-Academic, and ASC All-Conference honors.
Workplace
I am OFFICIALLY a certificated residency teacher in the state of Washington! YAY! I am also currently employed by two school districts, but am in the employment process at a third neighboring school district as well.
