Katherine (Kaye)'s Story
Life
After high school I finished my military training. Then in August of 1986 I got married, we moved to Falbrook, California. A year later we filed for a divorce, it became final in February of 1988. In April of 1988 I delivered a baby girl. I named her Emerald Dawn.
Five months later I started dating a guy who after four years became my second husband in November of 1992. In April I delivered a second baby girl. We named her Chelsy Jo. But sadly in 1997, we to divorced.
I then started dating some until February of 2002. That ended due to my being mobilized with my reserve unit.
I ended up in Colorado at Fort Carson, while my children stayed in Butte. In August I met this most awesome active duty guy. In September of 2003, Mark and I came back to Butte and moved all my stuff to Colorado. I stayed on active duty until June of 2004. I returned back to Butte for a few days then and retrieved one of my two girls Chelsy who was 12. Unfortunately my 16 year old decided to stay in Montana. She moved to Helena to be with her natural father.
In September of this year Mark and I got married. They say the third times a Charm. Lets hope so. So when we got married I gained two more adorable girls, Brittney 10 and Mercedes 9.
We also have gained a bassethound who now is 17mo named Gizmo, two parakeets, a seal point siamese named Bailey who is 9mo and a tank full of fish.
How can this life get any better. I'm not sure but I will keep ya updated and we'll see.
Workplace
I started work at the Copper king Inn in Butte in 1985 as a maid. I did that until I moved to California in November of 1986.
While in California I was a assistant manager for Little Casers Pizza. I also worked part time in a physical therpy office working the front desk.
When I came back to Butte I did a variety of jobs but the latest one was just before my deployment I was working as a CNA at the Crest Nursing Home. I loved it there.

e and should have it completed in about 6mo.
Now, I don't have to work but still do on a part time bases doing Home Health here in Colorado.
Military
I enteren basic training between our jr and sr year in high school. I went to Ft. Jackson SC. I spent the longest hottest summer in my life there. I lived though obstical course, weapons training,push ups, rushed meals, early mornings and late nights. And 8wks later I was graduating doing something a lot of other girls had failed to do in that 8wks believe in yourself.
I started doing my weekend drills with the best bunch of people you could ask for. I belonged to the 841st Ord Co. we drilled at the Naval Center on Wall st there in Butte. In the early 90's we moved to the National Guard building on Gilman and that is where we still drill today
Then after high school graduation, I packed up and went back to SC for 12wks more training. And once again filled with pride that I had succeded at what had been put in front of me where some had failed. I was graduating!!
I then came back to the 841st Ord Co and was with them until after Desert Storm we were demobilize and made in to a detachment to a Company out of Billings the 592nd Ord Co.
Since then I have traveled all over, seeing sights I would never have seen other wise. Japan, Germany (other countries while in Germany, France, Italy). Ive been to many states here to S Carolina, Kentucky, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia,.
I would recommend that every one should try it. Even with what is happening in the world now, I would do it all over again, But this time I would have started out on active duty first.
Well after 21 years of doing the reserve thing, come August 2005, I'm going to give it up and retire. I'm going to devote my time to supporting my Husband who is active duty serving in Iraq right now. God Bless them all and for their safe return soon to all serving over seas.
Well it is now 2009, and I still have not given it up, I am still on active duty and loving life.
