Katherine's Story
Life
I married the love of my life right out of high school. Five years later we started our family. We have two great kids our daughter Cassie 24 who just married this summer of 2007. And our son Michael 21 who is very involved in the computer world. We also have 2 pets a Golden Retriever her name is Maggie and she is 4. Our cat George he is about 2. We love to hang out with the kids and our friends and travel to tropical places, mostly Hawaii. But we have also seen Jamaica and Costa Rica and of course Mexico. We are looking forward to many more happy years together! I also love to play sports! I have played sports most all of my life. Soccer and Softball but at this stage in my life I am only playing softball, back problems keep me away from soccer which I love sooooo much!
School
The teacher I remember most was Mr. Cheeseman the science teacher at Bert Lynn. I remember learning osteology the best. I remember his attitude was failure is not an option! And I think he inspired me the most. My children both had him at Bert Lynn since I stayed in the same neighborhood while raising them. And he remembered me and let them know so. Boy that made me feel aged. Not long after both my children had him Mr. Cheeseman retired they gave him a retirement party at Bert Lynn and since I live a block away I went. It was nice to see him when he...Expand for more
retired. I will never forget him.
My only boyfriend at West High was Scott Walters he was a friend of my brothers. He was very good to me, but it didn't last long because I soon met the guy I ended up marrying and have no regrets!
I also remember one Halloween dressing up as Alice Cooper and Donna Auclair's brother Bill painted a spider on my face and I entered the costume contest. I can't remember who won, but I do remember getting quite a few cool costume comments from the people.
Looking back at my year book and the signatures from all who signed is kind of funny. Comments like have a bitchen summer or stay cool, or see you at the beach were amusing. But I didn't realize how many people knew I played soccer since I didn't play for the school. Since staying after school to play a sport for the school didn't interest me at the time. But I did and do love the game and played up to my mid 40's. And let me tell you all that running as our bodies age is not easy. But never the less I loved it anyway. Shooting goals was my favorite part. And I have many great memories of that sport.
Also having Coach Black chase my friend Donna down the hall for leaving before the bell rang after PE class, and then getting to know him and his family when my kids went to West and played sports with his daughters was pretty cool. They are a very nice family.
