Katherine's Story

Life I am living in Trenton, Maine where I just sold the Isleview Motel and Cottages. I am moving to the Belle Isle Motel in Bar Harbor, Maine which I have owned for ten years and we are working on our new house there. The past two years I have run both motels and had awesome results. This past season I also ran the Sunrise Motel in Trenton and I plan to buy it in the next few months between trying to build my house and possibly get a trip in to Florida. I have four beautiful children, Katie 18, Oliver 17, Skylar 12 and Walker 8. I have various other children who live with us that have been kicked out of their homes, all teenagers, up to four at a time. I have animals coming out of my ears, it seems, including two dogs, four cats, three rats, and a Chinchilla. Katie has another dog which spends alot of time with me along with fish, a rabbit and three Daegu's. Don't ask. We work all summer from April to mid November at ...Expand for more
the motel businesses and then are closed December thru March to recover and spend time as a family. Katie ran Sunrise by herself this year and I am so proud of her. Needless to say now she doesn't want to be in the Motel business anymore. We have a house in Florida but now that so many kids are in highschool it is easier to stay in Maine for the winter and go to Florida for short stays, one usually February. in two years Oliver will graduate and Skylar will be in eighth grade so I hope to spend four month down there. Here's hoping! I have lived in Maine since 1995 and before that I lived in England for 10 years and worked at the University of Essex in Colchester as the Administrator of the the Law Departments Masters Degree in European Community Law. Living in England was wonderful but after my mother's death in 1993 I worked my way back to the states. I have only been back to Long Island for Weddings and not since 1998.
