Katherine's Story
Ok time for a wipe-out of seriously outdated information, but not enough time for a comprehensive overview of my life right now. But that's ok, the bulk of my life right now is doctors appointments and physical therapy.
Living on my own in Moline now; bizarrely, by the time we sold the house in Rock Island, every family member had independently moved back to Moline. I'm 10 minutes from where my son and his fiancé live and 3 minutes from my sister's place. My nephew started at Wilson this year; which I was initially terrified of - that place was traumatizing as hell for me. But it seems that our school district has finally caught up a little, with concepts like mental heath care and assistive tech.

to get the disability benefits I need, while still hunting for medical solutions to make my body more functional - and hunting for part-time gigs until SSD makes up its mind (reach out if you know someone looking for a freelance writer/web content admin). I added Spinal Stenosis to my medical history in last 2022 (days after my name change) and had 9 hours of surgery on my cervical spine in March of 2023, which actually has a recovering time of 1.5-2 years. The surgery improve my mobility in the ways I'd hoped, but my neck functionality did get better and the brain fog was cut in half.
