Katheryn's Story
Life
I was in grad school at UCLA -- Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and Latin American Studies (MA) -- but did not finish. Unfortunately, I have been ill and am still on disability, but am getting better.
I have never married and never had kids. The way things are going, I don't think I will -- but that's fine with me :-)
I am a practicing Catholic who is active in my parish. I am also attempting to discern a vocation to consecrated life. Although I sometimes feel constrained by some...Expand for more
of the Church's traditions (as a feminist would!), my faith -- weak though it is -- has given me a lot of comfort and challenge.
Some of my articles on Brazilian society and politics have been published in "Brazzil" magazine, and an article I wrote on two Byzantine empresses/saints was published in "The Handmaiden" magazine. I am finishing up work on a historical novel set in Brazil between the 1930s and the 1970s, and am plotting another historical novel set in Hollywood during the same era.
