Kathie's Story
Life
My biography is short and simple. After I left NPA I worked for 20 years in the electronics industry. I met and married Norman in Canoga Park, moved to Granada Hills, moved to Clatskanie, Oregon, moved to Red Bluff CA, moved to Fresno then Fallbrook where we now live. Since finishing "Catwalk A Feline Odyssey" I still do some writing, and I also design crocheted bookmarker kits and other items which I sell online.
My other hobbies include gardening, woodworking, and of course my cats!

My favorite teacher at NPA had to be Mr. Wolfe. His stories of his days as a POW were much more interesting than the angles and tangents he was trying to teach us. One of my biggest frustrations was not being allowed to take woodshop classes. (Boys take woodshoop, girls take Home Ec). as of the opinion that both sexes should know the basics of auto mechanics and cooking, but I don't know what Mr. Wolfe's attitude was.
Looking back, I can see that I made some really wrong choices in the classes that I took, although at the time it didn't seem like I had much choice. "You're good at math and science, so that's what you should take." Now I wish I had skipped most of the math and science and taken Speech, Journalism, and Art instead. If I'd taken Speech class I'd have gotten over my shyness about 15 years sooner, and maybe I'd have gone to college when I had the chance.
I probably shouldn't have bailed out on organ lessons in the middle of my sophomore year, but I was getting really frustrated at the material Mrs. Wolfe was giving me. She had "church organist" in mind while I was thinking Jerry Lee Lewis! I know, I know, but my hands were always too small to reach an octave on the piano keyboard.
