.Our log home is finally finished. We designed and built it ourselves . It was worth every splinter. I would encourage anyone who is interested in log home living to go for it! Building a home by ourselves was difficult and everyone thought we were crazy. But I knew we could do it. I love living in the mountains away from the noise and the hustle and bustle. ave tracked wild turkeys through the woods. We also have black bear( have'nt seen one of those yet..which is ok with me.) Coyotes are a nuisance around here. The only sort of down side is we live on a dirt road and last winter we were snowed in for a week,but we knew that was a possibility and prepared for it.
