Kathy's Story
Life
I've been married to the same man all my life (29 years), Curt, and have 2 grown daughters (26 and 21), Katrina and Kimberly, 2 great son-in-laws, Josh and Nate, and a beautiful granddaughter (8), Angelica. I am employed at Colorado Christian University as the Graduate Program Advisor for the MBA program and reside most of the time in my office at the School of Business and Leadership. I am a member of Ken Caryl Baptist Church in Littleton, CO where, alongside my husband, I teach 5th and 6th graders. I love all types of music (bluegrass and country mostly), crafts, shopping, travelling, and - most of all - hiking and day excursions into the Rockies.
School
Hmmm....
Biggest Crush? - Oh, that would be Corky.
Inspirational teacher? - Mrs. Phillips, of course.
Would I do it all over again? Are you kidding?
Memories? Well, they are fading over time. There are a lot, though, that I recall when I look at old photos.
College
My "unique" roommate was my husband, Curt. The cafeteria food was actually pretty good, especially because I didn't have to prepare it or clean...Expand for more
up after. Oh, those all-nighters! They were killers!! I don't know how I ever did it, especially with two babies. My degree is in Business Organizational Management with a Minor in Christian Leqadership. I am currently working on my MBA.
Workplace
I started out working in my folks dry cleaner shop. Then I progressed to Assistant Manager at Carl's Jr. while attending technical college (Bryman) and earned my Registered Dental Assistant license. I worked in that field until '83 and the threat of AIDS scared me off. I then went to work for the Dean of Student Life at Calif. Baptist University while attending classes. I also worked part ime as a church secretary. I was promoted to executive secretary and worked for various firms and companies until I landed my current job as Graduate Program Advisor for Colorado Christian University. Only God knows what tomorrow will bring. Hopefully, a full time university teaching position.
Military
My military service was as the wife of an active duty Airman in the USAF. We were stationed at Travis AFB the entire four years.
