Kathy's Story
Greetings to fellow web surfers!
I primarily checked this website out because of Curiosity!! It is a bummer you can't see other high schools where you had other friends!
I am still living in the Greater Cleveland Area, happily married and working as a family practice Doc. It Seems very strange to be starting into the Fifth Decade, because in my mind I am still in my 20's!! But some days I feel 70!
I am busy with my practice, my animals, my husband and family and have been enjoying reconnecting with old friends. I have become very active with wild animal rescue and rehabilitation, primarily birds, but all in need are welcome. My husband Richard and I are also really busy from April to October for the "car" season. I am still driving my first High School car a '68 Merc Cougar!! Actually now I have 2 of them and a 67 Lincoln Continental Convertible. What a boat! It will pass anything but a gas station LOL! But it is a dream to drive. It is really true that they don't make them like they used to.
It seems strange to drive by the old school, along with Yorba and Cambridge Elementary. They have changed so much. I am not sure if all the changes have been for the better.
One thing about living in the Mid-west is that because of the weather, even the elementary schools have indoor gym's. I remember I was so sh...Expand for more
ocked to see a gym as big as ours was at OHS at a elementary school! Also because here in Ohio we are Land "rich", houses are farther apart, the freeways have large grass areas and many times trees in the center versus just lanes all the way across. I also have come to really enjoy the 4 seasons and watching the passing of time but the changing of all the leaves. Right now they are all budding for spring in a month or so, you won't be able to see our house again because all trees will have leaves again.
I do miss the sunshine from California, but don't miss the traffic!! Here our commute runs for about an hour in the AM and same in the PM. Thank God, both my husband and I travel opposite the main traffic coming and going to work.
It seems also strange that my nieces and nephews are now having children of their own and some of my close in age friends are becoming grandparents many times over!! Where did the time go? My step son will be 30 this year, it seems just yesterday he was taking his first communion!! He has remained single and childless so far. Hopefully that will be changing soon. I know his dad is looking forward to that possibility.
Well that is all I have to update for now. Drop me an email and i will contact you back. Quiltdoc at aol
