Kathy's Story
Life
After 32 yrs. of teaching high school English, theatre, and public speaking, I took "early" retirement as of Feb. 1, 2007. Three weeks later, I joined a friend's community-support agency, working first as an associate professional doing field work much as a caseworker would do. Later, I assumed other duties with the same agency, handling marketing, editing, writing, and some personnel matters, enjoying my 3-day work week and my 4-day weekends! When this agency fell on hard times in June of 2008, I finally took some time off.

on for at-risk students. When this position ended, I began substituting, which I have actually enjoyed. (REALLY!)
I have been married to Michael, from Pittsburgh, for nearly 18 yrs. We moved to NC in 89-90, and would be hard-pressed ever to leave this gorgeous state! Since we married rather late in life, we chose to have dogs over children! (At least the dogs can go to the kennel for the weekend, unlike children!!) We appreciate having a simple, comfortable, and relatively quiet life. I am enjoying having time to read for pleasure and doing some personal writing.
