Kathy's Story

After graduation in 94 I hung around Va for a couple years. In 96 Mike Wright and I moved to California and got married. In 98 we had my daughter, Bailey, and in 2001 Mike and I were happily seperated.
After a few years in the nonprofit world of Health and Human Services I decided it was time to get serious about school. I am currently attending CSU, Chico with a double major in Psychology and Women's Studies. My goal is to eventually move up north and work with the Seattle population of homeless teens, although my main focus is adolescent girls.

with a high school academic mentoring program, which I love. High school is a lot different when you're on the other side of the desk - in some respect. However, I continue to be amazed by all the politics and bickering between teachers behind the scenes.
I don't remember too much about my own high school experiece, it's all sort of a blur. I didn't participate too much in anything school related, in fact I was very disinterested in anything that had to do with Gar-Field; outside of school I was usually working or hanging out/getting into trouble with my friends. Some of my best memories come from my days hanging out in Woodbridge.
