John's Story
Life
I finished high school in Arkansas then joined the Navy and spent 2 years in Virginia. After the service I went back to Arkansas and enrolled at the University of Central Arkansas. I currently work as a Systems Engineer for a University. I have 2 wonderful boys (Conner 1999, Jackson 2002 and a daughter Elizabeth 2008).
School
I moved around a lot while I was in school. I spent most of high school at Oshkosh North (WI), but ended up spending my senior year in Arkansas and graduating from Nashville High (AR). Talk about culture shock!!
College
I attended the University of Central Arkansas between 1990 and 1994. I probably had too much fun and I am sure there are a few of you out there that would agree. :) In the second semester of my freshmen year I pledged Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity which is whole other story :) . I finished my second undergraduate degree at Central Baptist College in 2004 and successfully completed my 1L year of law school at Oklahoma City University. Because of work and family, I decided to pu...Expand for more
t law school on hold. Still wanting to further my education I enrolled in an MBA program at Oklahoma Christian University in the graduating in late 2008.
Military
I went to boot camp in July, 1988 completing my basic training at NRTC Great Lakes, IL. After boot camp and training, I was assigned to the USS Savannah (AOR-4) out of NOS Norfolk (VA). While onboard I got to do a great deal of traveling and got to see a great many once in a lifetime type things. Some of the more notable experiences, would include the coast of Africa (Senegal & Morocco), the Northern Lights (north of the Artic Circle), passing through the Straits of Gibraltar, London, Paris and on and on. I ended my enlistment while on a Med. cruise and was flown back to the States for out-processing. Of course the Navy had one more joke for me. My flight home was on a C-141, medical evac flight. 13 hours with no food, water, heat or bathroom! I spent 4 years in the reserves while I was in college, but spent the entire time at Camp Robinson in Little Rock.
