Kelley's Story
Hi guys,
I hope all is well with you all! It is amazing how fast the time goes by, isn't it?
Life has been very good these last 30+ years. I have been blessed beyond anything I will ever deserve. High School does seem like a lifetime ago. But I have such sweet memories of those years and I smile whenever I reminisce, talk to old friends and look at old pictures. Many of YOU are the reason for those smiles and sweet memories. Thank you.
With all the good there is to be found in life, we are bound to experience the bad & challenging too. January '09, my brother Mike passed away from complications relating to his diabetes, which he had battled for over 30 years. Losing him has introduced our family to a new kind of pain; our Mom most especially, of course. We miss him very much...everyday. He was so many things; wild, funny, wild, sweet, wild, loyal, wild, generous, wild, loving, wild, wild, wild...those of you who knew him know what I am talking about. :) Above everything, he loved & was loved. We will always keep him close to our hearts. We are thankful for all of the memories he has left us with. He was one-of-a-kind.
Okay...on to other things. :)
My husband Dave and I have been married for 29 years. We have two amazing sons; David is 26 and graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 2008, with his degree in English/Writing. He also attended The Academy of Recording Arts with his brother and is currently working as a Sound Engineer/Music editor;...Expand for more
Devan just turned 21 and after attending The Academy of Recording Arts is also working as a Sound Engineer & Production Assistant. They make us very proud. ^_^
My husbands' work brought us to Oklahoma in 2002. He is the Chief Operating Officer & Project Manager for a documentary film and media arts company. His work has been fun for all of us and has been a huge adventure at times. We have been able to do quite a bit of traveling that we would probably never get to do otherwise. It has given us opportunities to visit some really interesting places and the chance to experience different people and their cultures, all around the world.
Since our move in 2002, I have been a stay-at-home mom, I have been enjoying the time at home very much, and still seem to stay very busy working in the house/yard/garden, with hobbies, volunteering, and just making sure to enjoy & appreciate life & people.
As the kids have become young adults,...more independent and are moving on to their own new "adventures", my routine has changed. ^_^ I am really looking forward to more trips back home to Washington to see family & friends. It seems we have just about come "full circle" in our lives. I guess that is true for many of us at this point, isn't it? The years have flown by.
It has been so much fun reconnecting with some of you and I would love to hear from others too if you get the chance. I wish the best for you all & hope life has been good to you and your families!
