Ken's Story

It's been a long strange journey since high school. Flunked out of college the first time, too much partying. I think I finally grew up in the US Army during the Nam war. Came back to Cincinnati where I was working for GM. I decided to improve my lot in life and get off the assembly lines so I went back to school when I grew up. I continued my work toward a degree in Engineering and entered a company training program for skilled trades. Meanwhile I got married and had 3 kids. My first real job came to an end after 20 years when the GM plant closed. Another door opened and I went to work for Toyota in Georgetown. I managed a maintenance department. I spent a lot of time in Japan, traveled to California the United Kingdom and other Toyota interests over the world. I had to retire after 15 years there because of my health, which has improved since then. (suffered burnout) That was a high pressure job! Divorced and single for a while, finally remarried and I am content and happy with my life. I always wanted to be a car guy when I grew up. My family and friends thought tha...Expand for more
t was a strange idea. As it turns out, they were maybe right. Once I got the hotrodding and fast cars out of my life, I had a good career run and no regrets. I am still a gear head though. When I need to think I Ride my Harley, so if you see me out on the road give me some distance. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a good attitude, work hard, and play hard to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I do some part time social work at a local agency. My Dad was my hero, he was always a good man and a good friend. He taught me your word was your bond. Always remember who you are and where you came from and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. if you don't have something good to say about someone, keep your mouth shut. Life is short, children grow up quick, sometimes they make me very happy and proud, sometimes they disappont me, but they are always loved and they know that, I make sure I tell them every time I see them. I think they will pass the same values on their kids as I was raised with. They and my grandchildren are my greatest treasures
